Registration for the 11th annual Southport New Comedian of The Year 2019 Competition is now Closed.

Southport Comedy Festival 2019 has launched their 11th annual search for the next Southport New Comedian of the Year sponsored by The Waterfront Southport. All heats and the Grand Final will be held at their fabulous entertainment complex overlooking Southport’s Marine Lake.

Heats will take place in the run up to the festival on Sunday 22nd and Sunday 29th September. The Grand Final will be the closing event for this year’s festival on Sunday 20th October.

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges and will be awarded the coveted title of ‘Southport New Comedian of the Year', in addition they will also receive a special prize sponsored by The Waterfront Southport.

The competition is open to all comedians who have less than 2 years experience of performing before a paying audience and who do not have an agent.

Southport's New Comedian of the Year Terms and Conditions.

Please read very carefully. Failure to comply with any of the rules may result in instant disqualification from the competition.

1. Entrants must be 18 or over.

2. Entrants must not have performed comedy in front of a paying audience prior to September 2017. (Maximum of 2 years experience)

3. Entrants must not be or have been representented by an agent promoting them as a comedy act at any time prior to the competition taking place.

4. Entrants must have at least 10 minutes of original material.

5. Entrants must confirm that they are available for the dates of their nominated heat, and the final on Sunday 20th October 2019.

6. Entrants will meet all of their own travel and accomodation costs for attending heats and the final.

7. The organisers decision in all matters relating to the running of the competion is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding decisions made.

8. All initial communications will be by email. Please ensure your contact details are correct and your email address is valid and monitored.

9. No contract is made or implied by the submission of a registration form nor the acceptance of an entry other than as contained in the above terms and conditions.

10. Entries will be dealt with on a first come first served basis. All entrants shall be informed either way by Monday 9th September 2019 as to whether they have been successful in gaining a place in the heats which run in September.

11. Your personal information will only be used as part of the registration process and for contacting you about the event. Any information on unsuccessful applications will be deleted. Your information will not be given or sold to any other organisation or person.
