Southport Comedy Festival – Terms and Conditions

It is a condition of entry that ticket holders agree not to photograph, film, record or stream any part of the performance. Anyone found to be doing so will be asked to leave and will not be granted re-entry.

House Rules

Southport Comedy Festival is a customer focused entertainment event. We believe that comedy comes first and is best enjoyed by a respectful audience. Please note the following:-

  • All seating is unreserved. If you have any accessibility requirements please refer to the “Accessibility” section below.
  • Please, mobile phones must be switched off or silenced throughout the performances.
  • Please, no talking during performances – people have come to listen to the comedians not you.
  • Please, no persistent heckling – If you don’t like the act, let others enjoy it and come and see us afterwards.
  • The bar will be closed during all performances – You will be given lots of notice before the start of the performance and during the interval so that you can replenish your refreshments.
  • Doors open 1hr before the scheduled performance starts (or as advertised). Once a performance has commenced late admission is not guaranteed and will be at the discretion of the management at the time.

Anyone who we consider is persistently disrupting the performance in any way will be asked to leave without a refund.

If at any time we are aware of members of the public acting in a reckless manner that we consider to be putting staff or other members of the public at risk they will be politely reminded of their responsibilities. If they continue to act in a manner which we consider to be putting others at risk they will asked to leave and may not be readmitted in the future.

Ticket Sales

The reselling of tickets is strictly forbidden under any circumstances. Only tickets sold through official channels will be honoured on the night.

Tickets for Southport Comedy Festival shows are available from Skiddle online from this website 24 hours a day. Sales via Skiddle are subject to Skiddle’s Privacy Policy.

We operate a print-at-home system so you will be able to run your tickets off from your confirmation email. There is a booking fee applied to all tickets.

We can’t offer any refunds or exchanges unless the event has been cancelled or postponed. Please check your booking thoroughly before confirming the payment because once it has gone through, the tickets are yours.

We never advertise events or performers unless a firm booking has been made with the appropriate agents/performers. Due to unforeseen operational problems it may sometimes be impossible to present the advertised acts. This can be due to many reasons including sickness, travel disruption etc. We reserve the right to provide as near as possible replacement comedians and the show will go on.

Accessibility

The Festival will take place in Victoria Park in a bespoke luxury heated marquee built on a grassed area. Access to the the marquee is on paved paths and the marquee will have level hard flooring. There may be low ramps to negotiate at the entrances. All seating is at ground floor level. The Festival makes use of toilet block facilities normally used for the Southport Flower Show. These are situated outside close to the marquee and both male and female toilets have a disabled adapted cubicle. Access to the toilets is via paved pathways.

All shows are fully seated and general seating is unreserved, if you have any special requirements such as wheelchair space please contact us via the website in advance and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.  Please be aware that shows can be noisy with spontaneous loud laughter, clapping, music and various public address announcements. We want our less able customers to enjoy our shows without barriers. If this means you need a carer to accompany you to an event, we may be able to accommodate this at our discretion at no additional charge subject to availability and appropriate supporting documentation.

Children and Young People at the Comedy Festival

Where permitted children and young people (under 18) must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times. No unaccompanied children or young people will be admitted to any of the events.

Minimum ages for shows are for guidance only. It is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure the show is suitable for the children and young people attending. Shows rated PG may contain strong language and adult content.

We will operate a Challenge Under 25 policy in relation to alcohol sales.

Privacy and Data Protection

We reserve the right to take photographs and/or videos at any of our events and to use these images in any appropriate manner for publicity purposes including posting on social media channels. These images may include images of members of our audiences including children and young people. If for any reason you cannot be filmed, please advise a member of staff at the earliest opportunity.

When you give us your email as part of the Skiddle eTicketing System or on comment cards we will place your details on our mailing list. The mailing list will only be used to inform you of the great comedy we have in and around Southport as well as local productions by Big Comedy UK. Every mailing will have a link to unsubscribe should you not wish to receive this information. We will never give or sell your email address to anyone else. Once your email address has been entered onto our mailing list any other record, manual or electronic, will be destroyed. The electronic mailing list is password protected and secured by WIX.COM and is subject to their privacy policy.

We will never use your contact details received on electronic contact forms for anything other than to communicate with you about your enquiry. Once any business involving the use of your contact data has been concluded your personal information will be destroyed in an appropriate and secure manner.

We will never give or sell your details to anyone else unless required to by law.

Cookies

The Southport Comedy Festival web site is managed by Big Comedy UK. Big Comedy UK does not place cookies on your computer. Anonymised data are automatically collected for site performance purposes and website usage analysis.
